The intelliPATH FLX offers the ability to perform up to 5 simultaneous IHC runs; speed and flexibility with on-board chromogen mixing capabilities; and the ability to dramatically reduce workload with simultaneous multiplex staining. We have outlined the key features below:
Prioritized STAT Processing
This feature ensures that your lab provides superior service for the pathologists, oncologists and ultimately your patients. Scheduling software prioritizes STAT cases, delivering rapid results in approximately 60 minutes.
Note: the prioritized STAT feature can be used if a slide needs to be repeated or reprocessed, the slide can be re-run as STAT, thereby saving time and increasing patient care.
Workflow Advantages
The intelliPATH FLX features Multi-Batch Processing (MBP™) technology, which allows you to schedule your workload around the unique needs of your laboratory service, pathologists and patients. No more scheduling around inflexible batch-only instruments with 4+ hour run times. The intelliPATH FLX MBP technology enables your laboratory to run cases on a first-in, first-out (FIFO) basis that is virtually impossible with non-continuous random access stainers. We have also incorporated other features such as the ‘no touch’ ultrasonic liquid level sensor – removing the requirement for time intensive steps with every liquid level sensing event; and simultaneous X-Y motion to decrease the dispense time by 10-20%, resulting in a faster turn around time and supporting unprecedented levels of service to physicians and patients.

The intelliPATH FLX enhanced platform provides a true continuous random access workflow with the efficiency of a high volume batch instrument; MBP enables running of simultaneous and independent batches that prioritize in order of importance, ensuring that your cases are done on time, every time. Continuous random access means you are no longer limited to “two batches per day”, no longer have to wait until the prior batch has completed to run more slides or wait until a certain number of samples have come in to process the optimal batch size - you can deliver results in a timely manner. With the intelliPATH FLX you can process up to 5 simultaneous runs; running each tray independently with separate start and completion times and adding new batches of slides on-demand.
Productivity & Ease of Use
The intelliPATH FLX is always prepared to complete any run that you choose to program. For your ease of use and convenience we have built in reminder- notifications such as “Add Bulk Reagent” and “Empty Waste”. This enables the user to ‘walk-away’ during a run and not return to a stalled run. The fact that you can run multiple antibody protocols in a single tray, simplifies batch set up.
Flexibility
The intelliPATH FLX is a fully open system, designed to use antibodies, detection systems or chromogens from any source and provides maximum flexibility for both anatomic pathology and research laboratories. Connection & Data Management
The intelliPATH FLX features either uni- or bi-directional LIS interfaces; compatible with XML, HL-7 and other communication standards, thereby eliminating hours of hands-on-time spent inputting case information and reducing sample identification errors. The inventory management interface tracks the reagent lot number, expiration dates and remaining reagent volume, providing easy access for reporting or reagent tracking giving confidence that expired reagents will not be used. The intelliPATH FLX software has the capability to control up to 4 instruments from one computer; enabling data–sharing of protocols, reagent inventory, test and patient information. The intelliPATH FLX software also features the capacity to generate multiple reports. These reports include protocol validation, IHC summary by a batch/run and reagent usage. This feature enables easy sample tracking and essential documentation for laboratory requirements.
On-board Chromogen Mixing
The intelliPATH FLX features on-line preparation of chromogens and enzymes. A refrigerated area on the deck holds up to two chromogen vials, eliminating the need for the instrument to pause mid-run whilst the user comes back to apply heat labile chromogens, such as Fast Red. This feature enables the user to conveniently ‘walk-away’ or set up the intelliPATH FLX for overnight runs, thereby increasing the throughput and efficiency of your laboratory.
